Reef fish species in the heavy bodied large lips group that I have photographed in the Mariana Islands include species in the families Serranidae (Subfamily Epinephelinae, Tribe Epinephelini–groupers), Cirrhitidae (hawkfishes), and Haemulidae (sweetlips). Also included in this group are the Grammatidae (basslets), which are found in the tropical Western Atlantic Ocean.
