*Note that while Anyperodon leucogrammicus, Cephalopholis miniata, Cromileptes altivelis, Epinephelus corallicola, E. fuscoguttatus, and E. howlandi have been reported from the Mariana Islands, the individuals above were photographed in Palau (A. leucogrammicus, E. corallica, E. fuscoguttatus), the Philippines (C. miniata, C. altivelis), and Wallis Island (E. howlandi). The Cephalopholis sexmaculata individual above was photographed at Asuncion in the Northern Mariana Islands. I have not yet observed any of these species in the waters around Guam.

- Hyporthodus octofasciatus (reported as Epinephelus octofasciatus; found deeper than 150 m)
- Epinephelus socialis
- Saloptia powelli (found deeper than 140 m)
